My review should say it all. Flow well, good characters, never a boring chapter. Does make me miss SB a ton, but I recommend it! Enjoy. Neal
I enjoyed following Dan Tasker through his trials and tribulations (and dangerous associations!) in our eclectic resort town. The fact that I live in Santa Barbara and am familiar with these locales and businesses made this book all the more fun. But even if I knew nothing about S.B., I would have enjoyed the mystery and suspense Brainard offers. It's a good first novel and I look forward to the sequel...
Knowing the location/s personally can make a story better for anyone, which helped to make this book great fun. I really enjoy the rhythm and sensible writing of this author, too; he gets your attention and keeps you blissfully entertained through the story. Too many books give so much extraneous blather - you never get that wasted time back. Brainard adds color and music in his writing -- love it!
